Hasan condoles death of Dr SA Malek

Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of former Political Adviser to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Bangabandhu Parishad President Dr SA Malek.

In a message of condolence, the minister recalled the contribution of Malek, who is also first advisory council member of Awami League, in six-point demand and language movements and the great Liberation War.

He said Malek was elected as a lawmaker in 1973 as the Awami League nominee from Faridpur-1 constituency and he was made the Political Adviser to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in 1996.

Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary, prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.

Malek died of a heart attack at a hospital in the city on Tuesday night at the age of 88.
