Two people were killed and eight others sustained burn injuries after five vehicles caught on fire after an oil-laden lorry overturned in Savar on Tuesday (2 April) morning.
On receiving information, three units of fire service rushed to the spot and doused the blaze.
The deceased were identified as Iqbal and Nazrul Islam. All of the injured victims have been admitted to Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute in Dhaka.
It was known, four trucks and a private car were burnt when an oil-laden lorry overturned and caught fire.
Vehicular movement on the Dhaka-Aricha highway came to a standstill after the incident. Police are working to normalize traffic.
