A woman died and three people were injured after a concrete mixer truck hit a private car on Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Munshiganj's Gazaria upazila this morning. The deceased was identified as Ambia khatun (55), wife of Sultan Ahmed of Burichang upazila in Cumilla.
The incident happened around 8:00am at Baluakandi area when the victims along with others were heading towards Dhaka from Cumilla, Moniruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Bhaberchar Highway Police, told our Munshiganj correspondent.
The truck hit the car from the back, leaving four out of six-seven passengers injured, he said. Ambia was taken to Gazaria upazila health complex, where doctors declared her dead.
The injured were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment. Police seized the truck but its driver fled.
