Chattogram University Journalist Association has entered into 28 years and celebrated its 27th founding anniversary with lively slogans and Anand Sobha Jatra.

The Anand Sobha Jatra started at 11am on Thursday (7 December). It was followed by a discussion meeting and presentation of essays, held in the central library auditorium of the university. Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Shireen Akhtar was the chief guest of the programme. The president of the association chaired the programme.

Mahbub A Rahman, the dean of the Faculty of Sociology, Prof. Siraj Ud Daullah, the director of CU Museum, Prof. Dr. Bashir Ahmed, proctor Prof. Nurul Azim Sikder. Controller of Examinations Ameer Muhammad Mucha, Syndicate Member Muhammad Ali and Assistant proctor Arup Barua were also present in it.

“The techniques used by those in power to prolong their power have come from the past. At present, the media has become weak because corporate companies are controlling the media. But that does not mean that journalism will stop. Now there is a transitional period,” said.

However, by doing investigative journalism, this profession should be promoted as the fourth pillar of the state. Don't sit in fear. The fear will soon pass.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Shirin Akhtar said, 27 years of Chattagram University Journalists Association has been completed. Good to see former leaders of the association. Journalists are the conscience of the nation. They put everything of the university before the nation. Therefore, for the sake of the university, objectivity should be maintained in reporting the news. I don't know how much of our bad deeds have been done, but the signs of good deeds are not less. Even if you dislike the person, the university is yours. So, the positive writings should also be highlighted.
