Two day-long CJEN conference begins at Khulna University 

The two-day long 6th Communication and Journalism Educators Network (CJEN) conference-2022 has began here at the Lecture Theatre of Sattyendranath Basu Academic Building of the Khulna University (KU) today.

Jointly organized by the Mass Communication and Journalism (MCJ) Discipline of KU and Deutsche Welle (DW) Akademie Convener of the Conference and Head of MCJ Discipline Professor Dr Abdullah Abu Sayeed chaired the event.

Professor Dr Nasif Ahsan, Dean of the Social Science School of KU addressed the conference as chief guest while Priya Essenbom, programme director of Bangladesh of DW Akademie, and Chairman of MCJ department of the Dhaka University Professor Dr Abul Monsur Ahmed addressed as special guests. 

Ekushey Padak awarded journalist Freedom Fighter Ajoy Dasgupta delivered the welcome speech at the programme while Co-convener of the conference committee and Assistant Professor of MCJ Discipline Professor Mamunur Rashid and member secretary of the conference committee Professor Md Shariful Islam, among others, addressed. 

Describing the importance of the conference, the chief guest said objective, realistic and positive journalism in each sector can be the direction of forming of society as well as country.

He also hoped that an important platform will be made for building communication between each other through the conference.

Later, FF Ajoy Das Gupta presented keynote paper on the topic in the technical session. Chairman of MCJ Department of DU Professor Dr Abul Mansur Ahmed, ex-Deputy Principal Information Officer of Khulna PID Zeenat Ara Ahmed and Special Assignment Editor of bdnews24.com Rajib Nur, among others, addressed.
