Department of Journalism, Media, and Communication (JMC) of Daffodil International University (DIU) organized the 5th edition of its highly anticipated half-yearly colloquium, JMC Media Buzz Spring 2024 today on May 15, The Media Buzz is scheduled to take place on May 15–16, 2024, at Daffodil Smart City in Birulia, Dhaka. The event promises to be an engaging platform for students across the country to showcase their work, marking a significant milestone in fostering innovation and talent in the field of media and communication.
This time, the spotlight is on Content Creation for Social Media. JMC Media Buzz Spring-2024 features two exciting competitions: the National Photography Competition themed in Summer in Bangladesh, and the National 100 Second Content Creation, shedding light on Child Labour in Bangladesh. Students from across the nation have eagerly submitted their entries, presenting their talent and passion for making a difference through the media.
As content creation takes centre stage for the fifth instalment of Media Buzz, the JMC Department is proud to announce that Creative IT Institute, one of Bangladesh's leading IT training institutes, is joining hands with us as an educational partner for this event. With their esteemed collaboration, hosts are poised to deliver an enriching experience celebrating innovation and expertise in the field.
The two-day-long event was inaugurated today, May 15, 2024, with an exciting lineup. It begins with the exhibition of the National Photography Contest at 9:30 AM, followed by a stimulating discussion on mastering content with photographs at 11:00 AM, and the much-anticipated screening and prize-giving ceremony of the contest at noon. Later, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a workshop titled Social Psychology: Influencing Mass Mindset, led by renowned content creator Sadman Sadik.
Esteemed guests and the judges of the National Photography Contest, including the famous documentary photographer. Hadi Uddin and Dr. Shariful Islam Imshiat, a distinguished researchers, educators, and photographers. Professor Dr Liza Sharmin, Dean, of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of Daffodil International University inaugurated the program as the chief guest while Aftab Hossain, Head, of the Department of Journalism, Media and Communication presided over the program. A large number of teachers and students gathered at the inauguration ceremony.
