Following the success of "Theri Shinghopurush," video streaming platform Bongo has brought another blockbuster movie, the star-studded biopic "Thalaivii." Dubbed in Bangla, the film was released as "Netri" on Bongo Friday.
Directed by renowned South Indian film director AL Vijay, it stars Kangana Ranaut, Aravind Swamy, Nasser, Bhagyashree and many others.
Lead actress Kangana, who plays the role of Thalaivii, transformed her body and gained 20kg weight to match her character of the late actress-politician and former chief minister of Tamil Nadu J Jayalalithaa.
With the famous scriptwriter Vijayendra Prasad, the director himself wrote the screenplay of this political drama.
Vijayendra wrote the scripts of blockbusters like "Bahubali," "Bajrangi Bhaijaan," "Manikarnika," and "Mersel." Thalaivii first premiered in theatres in India on September 10, 2021.
Afterwards, it premiered on Netflix and received a huge response, beating the Netflix original "Sex Education."
