Nari Maitree, a leading women's organization in Bangladesh, in collaboration with the Core Group, USA, successfully observed World Hepatitis Day 2024 at Ukhiya Health Complex, Cox's Bazar.

The event aimed to raise awareness about the global burden of viral hepatitis and emphasize the urgency of prevention and treatment efforts.

Dr. Ranjan Barua Rajan, Upazilla Health & Family Planning Officer, served as the Chief Guest and Speaker, underscoring the importance of early diagnosis, vaccination, and community engagement in combating hepatitis.

The event featured informative sessions, educational materials, and interactive discussions to equip attendees with accurate information about the disease.

The event featured informative sessions on hepatitis prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, as well as interactive Q&A sessions. Educational materials were distributed to attendees, empowering them with knowledge about hepatitis and its impact on global and local communities.

Bangladesh faces a significant hepatitis burden, with an estimated 8 million people living with hepatitis B and 1.5 million with hepatitis C.

World Hepatitis Day serves as a reminder of the ongoing battle against hepatitis, which affects millions globally and poses a significant health challenge in Bangladesh.
