Chhatra League attack Chatra Dal at DU, 5 injured

After Iftar, an alleged attack by the Chhatra League on the activists of the Chatra Dal was reported in the vicinity of the Dhaka University (DU) campus. It has been reported that 5 activists of a DU branch of the Chatra Dal, including a female leader, were injured in this attack. The attack took place in front of the outpatient department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Monday (11 April) evening at around 7 pm.

The injured persons are Manzura Alam, the female leader of the Chatra Dal, Raju Ahmed, the joint Secretary of the DU Chatra Dal, Mehedi Hasan joint secretary of Johurul Haque Hall,  DU Chhatra Dol, Aman Ullah Aman, the joint secretary of the DU Chatra Dal, and Kafi, an activist of the SM Hall Chatra Dal.

Johurul Haque Hall, the joint secretary Hall branch of Du Chatra Dal, informed The Daily Messenger that after Iftar, they were heading towards Dhaka Medical College when the Chhatra League boys attacked them. In this attack, five of their leaders were injured. Raju Ahmed received severe injuries to his left eye and his entire body, Mehedi Hasan had ten stitches on his head, and he was injured all over his body. Aman and Kafi were also injured in the head.

Regarding this matter, Dr. Maksoodur Rahman, Proctor of Dhaka University, told The Daily Messenger, "I am still unaware of this matter. I am trying to find out the news quickly."

Majharul Kabeer Shayan, The president of the Dhaka University branch of the Chhatra League, told the Daily Messenger, "I don't know much about this matter. If anything like this happened, I will take necessary actions after knowing about it."
