As we have the best road ever in the history of Bangladesh under Sheikh Hasina's government, there is no situation where there will be traffic jams due to the road, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said on Friday (14 June).
He made the remark while speaking at a press conference at the Awami League president’s Dhanmondi political office in the capital this afternoon.
Besides, the authorities concerned were ordered to perform their duties so that public suffering does not increase due to the cattle market setting up indiscriminately, he stated.
“Sacrificial animal-carrying vehicles and indiscriminate cattle markets may cause some traffic congestion…it is difficult to avoid suffering when it rains. Attention should be paid to performing responsibilities and surveillance should be increased to prevent untoward accidents and loss of lives on roads,” he said.
Acknowledging the inflation in Bangladesh, Quader said it was also once a concern in Europe. Inflation in countries like Argentina is 300 percent, 73 percent in Turkey, an influential country in world politics.
The situation of inflation in neighboring countries including Sri Lanka and Pakistan is not good, he informed.
