Like every year, the main Eid Jamaat of holy Eid-ul-Azha was held at the National Eidgah Maidan of the capital. The Eid congregation started at 7:30 am on Monday (17 June).
President Mohammed Shahabuddin, Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan, Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Tapas, Cabinet members, Members of Parliament, Judges of Supreme Court and High Court, political leaders, senior government officials, diplomats of various Muslim countries and others participated in the main Eid congregation.
Khatib Maulana Mohammad Ruhul Amin of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque led the congregation. After prayers, a special prayer is offered for the welfare, happiness, peace and prosperity of the entire Muslim Ummah and the nation.
After that, the President exchanged Eid greetings with everyone present.
Meanwhile, Eid prayers will be offered in 184 Eidgahs and around 1500 mosques of Dhaka including National Eidgah, Baitul Mukarram National Mosque. Like every year, five congregations of the holy Eid-ul-Azhar are being held at National Mosque Baitul Mukarram.
