Dhaka College has been declared closed for Monday, March 6, due to clashes that occurred between students of Ideal College, City College, and Dhaka College in the Science Lab area.
The conflict lasted for more than two hours, resulting in traffic disruption at Green Road and Science Lab junction. The police had to fire tear gas to disperse the students. After the students returned to their respective college campuses, the conflict subsided.
In response to the clashes, Principal Professor Mohammad Yusuf announced the closure of the college for Monday, citing unavoidable reasons. However, pre-scheduled examinations will continue as planned. Additionally, the college will also be closed on March 7 for Shubh Dola Yatra and March 8 for Holy Shaba-e-Barat.
To control the situation, additional police have been deployed in the Science Lab area. The clashes occurred due to dominance issues among the students of the three colleges. The closure of Dhaka College is a precautionary measure to prevent any further incidents.
