BRAC Bank hosts Agent Banking Meet in Kuakata

BRAC Bank has recently organized an Agent Banking Meet of five Southern districts to formulate a business roadmap for 2024 and beyond. The conference was organized with support from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to drive financial inclusion.

The daylong conference aimed to foster stronger relationships and collaboration between the bank and its agent partners. It was attended by Agent Partners, Agent Field Officers, Agent Relationship Officers, and officials of the Distribution Network and SME Banking from the Barishal, Patuakhali, Khulna, Jashore, and Jhenaidah regions.

Sabbir Hossain, Deputy Managing Director & COO; Shaheen Iqbal, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Treasury & Financial Institutions; Nazmur Rahim, Head of Alternate Banking Channels; Md. Nazmul Hasan, Head of Agent Banking; Shahrear Zamil, Head of Remittance & Probashi Banking; Uttam Adhikari, Head of Core Banking Application; Kamalesh Baidya, Unit Head, Agent Banking Accounts Services; Syeda Marufa Hassin, Senior Manager, Customer Onboarding, Agent Banking; and regional coordinators, team leaders, ARO, AREs were present in the conference held at Kuakata on March 8.

The leaders of Agent Banking reviewed the business performance of the year 2023 and discussed the future growth strategy. This get-together event provided a platform for attendees to exchange views, discuss business potentials and industry scenarios, share field-level experiences, address challenges, and explore ways to overcome them. Agent banking leaders also discussed strategies to combat the money laundering problem effectively, such as transaction monitoring and improving financial services for the people of all corners of the country.
