US-Bangla Airlines launched flights to Abu Dhabi of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the first time on Friday. With this, US-Bangla now has flights to three UAE cities, the other two being Dubai and Sharjah.
As part of the expansion plan and due to the demand among expatriate Bangladeshis, the flight of US-Bangla, one of the country's leading airlines, to Abu Dhabi from Dhaka will depart on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Besides, the Abu Dhabi flight from Chattogram will depart on Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday.
The flight from both places will depart at 5:50pm. It will land at 9:10pm (local time) in Abu Dhabi.
On the other hand, the flight will depart from Abu Dhabi at 10pm (local time) and land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday and at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday at 4:50am.
Boeing 737-800 with 174 passengers took off from Chattogram for Abu Dhabi at 5:50pm on Friday as the inaugural US-Bangla flight to the UAE city.
US-Bangla officials said the decision to operate flights to Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE, will further strengthen ties between the two countries.
Apart from the UAE, US-Bangla operates flights to Muscat, Doha, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Malé, Bangkok, Guangzhou, Kolkata, and Chennai.
Besides, it operates domestic flights from Dhaka to Cox's Bazar, Chattogram, Sylhet, Saidpur, Jashore, and Rajshahi. From Friday, the company is operating 11 flights per week, including four additional ones, on the Dhaka-Chennai route.
