Like every year, on Sunday (May 14), "World Mother's Day" was celebrated in Bangladesh like the rest of the world.
In continuation of this, Universal Medical College Hospital of the capital organized the World Mother's Day special honoring ceremony "Garbini Ma-2023" for the 10th time.
MA Mannan MP, Minister, Ministry of Planning was present as the chief guest at the event held at Rawa Convention Center located at Mohakhali DOHS in the capital.
The chief guest said that no child can repay the debt of mother's milk. Therefore, humble respect for mothers should always be maintained. Mother is our first and last refuge'.
The chief guest thanked the Universal Medical College Hospital authorities for such an arrangement and urged them to maintain this continuity.
Chairman of Universal Medical College Hospital and Director of FBCCI, Preeti Chakraborty, presided over the event and Dr. Ashish Kumar Chakraborty, Managing Director of the hospital and chief organizer of the Maternity Award, delivered the welcome speech.
Colonel Mir Motahar Hossain, CEO of ATN News, who himself is the son of a pregnant mother, gave a welcome speech on the occasion.
Zakia Sultana, Secretary, of the Ministry of Industries was present as a special guest on the occasion and Md Amin Helali, Vice President, of the Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) was present on behalf of the FBCCI President as Guest of Honour.
Every child expressed their feelings on the eve of honoring pregnant mothers in the ceremony. Hospital Chairman Preeti Chakraborty and Managing Director Dr. Ashish Kumar Chakraborty have been organizing this beautiful event since 2014 to wish her mother's illness and recovery from the disease. In the beginning, 5 expectant mothers were given this honor, and where late eminent educationist National Professor Dr. Anisuzzaman was present as the chief guest. This year, Garbini Ma Sammanna entered its tenth year.
