The opening ceremony of the 'Bangabandhu 3rd International Squash Tournament-held at the Gulshan Club of the capital. The biggest squash tournament of the country organized by Bangladesh Squash Rackets Federation, includes two international events with the participation of acclaimed female and male squash players from both home and abroad. Furthermore, it includes a total of three tournaments with the participation of aspiring young talents. Ispahani has played a vital role in supporting this tournament since 2021.
Bangladesh is once again in the list of countries hosting a PSA tour event through this 5-day international tournament from September 26th to September 30th, 2023. The PSA or Professional Squash Association is the world governing body of professional squash. In the PSA 'Challenge Tour-5' of the 'Bangabandhu 3rd International Squash Tournament', sponsored by Ispahani, the top six male players from Bangladesh will play against players from Netherlands, Egypt, Iran, Kuwait, Malaysia, UAE, India and Sri Lanka. Moreover, the best 14 female players of Bangladesh will play with the professional female players of Malaysia and Sri Lanka in the satellite tour organized for women. Besides, more than fifty male and female players of the under 17 category will participate in the '3rd Bangladesh Youth Squash Competition 2023' organized for young players. The Challenge Tour matches of the tournament will be held at Gulshan Club and the Satellite Tour and Youth Squash competition will be held at the Army Squash Complex
The semi-final and final matches of this competition will also be showcased on television. The first semi-final of PSA 'Challenge Tour-5' will be broadcasted live on ATN Bangla on 29th September at 5 pm and the second semi-final will be telecasted on 30th at 12.05 pm. The final match of the tournament will be broadcasted live on 30th at 2.40 PM.
Mr. Ashraf Ali Khan Khosru, MP, Minister of Social Welfare of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, was present as the chief guest in the inauguration ceremony, and Mr. Rashed Chowdhury, Vice President of Bangladesh Squash Racket Federation presides the program.
Mr. Mirza Salman Ispahani, Vice President of the Squash Rackets Federation and Chairman of Ispahani group, Irshad Hossain, Vice President of Bangladesh Squash Rackets Federation, and Gulshan Club President Rafiqul Islam graced the event with their presence. Also present were Federation General Secretary Brigadier General GM Quamrul Islam SPP (retd) along with the members of the Executive Council of the Federation and Gulshan Club, officials of Ispahani Group, invited guests, journalists, and local and foreign squash players.
It is important to acknowledge that Ispahani consistently endeavors to increase the popularity of squash game in Bangladesh. Ispahani Group has sponsored other tournaments of Bangladesh Squash Rackets Federation along with the 'Bangabandhu International Squash Tournament'. Additionally Ispahani has sponsored cricket, football, basketball, chess, bridge, golf and various other sports as well.
