The three sons of Afaz Uddin Ahmed, former Member of Parliament for Kushtia-1 (Daulatpur) constituency and the lifelong president of Upazila Awami League, are all vying for the party's nomination in the upcoming 12th national election. They are actively engaged in the political arena, striving to secure the nomination for the boat symbol.

Leading the charge is the eldest son, Nazmul Huda Patol Biswas, who currently serves as the Upazila Parishad chairman and is an advocate by profession. His two younger brothers, Arif Ahmed Biswas and Majed Ahmed Biswas, are also actively involved in various party activities, with Arif maintaining regular contact with party workers in Dhaka and Majed coordinating activities with their own workers.

The competition for the party nomination among the three brothers is a topic of intense debate among the locals. Party workers and supporters find themselves in a state of confusion, unsure of which side to support in the absence of a final decision regarding the nomination.

Among the three sons, Nazmul Huda Patol Biswas holds the strongest position. He has previously served as the organizational editor of the Upazila Awami League and stated that his primary responsibility is to fill the void left by his father as the eldest son, rather than emphasizing his own political identity within the family.

Advocate Ejaz Ahmed Mamun Biswas, the youngest son, who also serves as the Daulatpur Upazila Parishad Chairman and the Upazila Awami League's joint-general secretary, desires the nomination as well. He acknowledges that in a large party like the Awami League, there can be multiple aspirants for nominations, and the final decision lies with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The middle son, Arif Ahmed Biswas, has a controversial history in politics, having lost the nomination competition in the tenth national election.

Despite their differences, the three brothers are determined not to leave any stone unturned in their pursuit of the party nomination. They are all actively engaged in the process, with no one willing to step down until the matter is finalized.

Afaz Uddin Ahmed, their father, has a long-standing history in the politics of Daulatpur Upazila Awami League, spanning over 35 years as the party's organizational secretary and president. His legacy has left a significant mark on the local political landscape, and his sons are now carrying the torch forward as they vie for the party's nomination in the upcoming national election.
