Mastered cultivation gaining popular as cash crop in Bhola

Mastered oil seeds cultivation gaining popularity as a  cash crop in Bhola district  following getting fair price and ensure good yield by introducing high yielding  new varieties invented by Bangladesh Agriculture Research Institute and Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear Agriculture.

In view to increase mastered production  government emphasized on agriculture  research in view to cop with the excessive demand of edible oil and supply from local production.

While contacted Deputy Director of Agricultural Extension Bhola official said that mastered was cultivated on 9000 hectares of  land this year which is 2000 hectare more than that of last year.

Humayun Kabir sub assistant  agriculture officer of this office said that farmers are more interested to cultivated short duration crop now a days to be more financial benefit.

M. Hasan Warishul  Kabir deputy director of DAE Bhola office said that newly invented mastered seed  varieties BARI- 14, 17, 18 and BINA- 9 and 4 are more popular to the farmer. Off which BARI- 18 variety yield 2.5 metric tons which is more than all other varieties.

During a visit in North Joy Nagar village of  Daulatkhan upazila Nurul Islam a mastered farmer said that they are more interested to cultivate short duration crops as the land of Bhola are three cropping pattern.

The famers of Bhola expected bumper yield this year due to favourable climatic condition.
