The children's park nestled in Ghogadaha of Kurigram is a haven for families, and drawing people from all walks of life who flock there daily to revel in its delights.

Situated along the rustic charm of the Jatrapur-Ghogadaha road, adjacent to the Ghogadaha union council office, and facing the union health and family welfare center under Kurigram Sadar upazila, this park stands as a testament to community spirit and the love for nature and childhood joy.

The visionary behind this oasis of fun is Shah Alam Miah, a philanthropist and former chairman of Ghogadaha union parishad. With a heart brimming with love for nature and children, Miah embarked on a mission to transform 45 decimals of land into a wonderland for the young and young at heart. Over two fiscal years, from 2018 to 2020, he poured Tk. 32 lakh into this project, receiving a mere nine lakh taka from the Local Government Support Project (LGSP) while selflessly covering the rest from his own pocket. Miah reminisces, “there was a ditch near the health center, and I made arrangements to fill the ditch and set up these sculptures.” His dedication bore fruit when the park opened its gates, welcoming throngs of visitors and their children from far-flung locales.

The park isn't just a playground; it's an educational haven. Amidst the laughter and play, visitors can glean knowledge about flora, fauna, scientific marvels, and more. As mothers watch their children frolic, they find respite in the serene surroundings. An intricately adorned gate, crowned with a symbol of a boat, beckons all who pass by. For tired feet and weary souls, a sturdy concrete shed offers solace, providing a spot to cool down and catch a breath.

Children are the focal point of this park, with sculptures tailored to their fascination and curiosity. Shishu Park promises a haven for families seeking wholesome entertainment and safety for their little ones. The Artificial Amusement Park adds to the allure, offering children an enchanting environment straight out of their dreams.

Shahjahan Ali, a local businessman, attests to the park's magnetic pull, noting the steady stream of visitors, especially on festive occasions like Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid-ul-Azha, national celebrations, New Year, and Valentine’s Day. He observes the park buzzing with activity, as hundreds of visitors, young and old, converge with their vehicles. It's not just a park; it's a hub of entertainment and camaraderie, enriching rural life with its vibrant energy. Alongside the laughter and play, makeshift vendors peddle toys and treats, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Ariful Islam, a teenager from Palasbari village, shares his delight upon visiting the park for the first time. His eyes sparkle as he recounts the myriad sculptures, from majestic elephants to graceful peacocks, that captured his imagination. Crossing the small bridge over the floating canal, he felt a sense of wonder and adventure, echoing the sentiments of countless other children who find solace and excitement within the park's confines.

As Shah Alam Miah reflects on his endeavor, he expresses hope for the park's future. Despite financial constraints, his determination to create a haven for children remains unwavering. With dreams of expanding the park's offerings, he envisions a lush picnic spot, beckoning families from far and wide. Administrative officers have lauded his efforts, recognizing the park as a beacon of community spirit and joy. With government support, Miah believes the park can flourish, enriching the lives of generations to come.

In the heart of rural Kurigram, amidst the tranquil beauty of nature, lies a sanctuary of childhood wonder. Shah Alam Miah's children's park stands as a testament to love, community, and the enduring spirit of play.
