One killed, 21 injured in Pabna clash over land

A 40-year-old man died and 21 others were injured in a clash between two groups over a land dispute in Sahapur Union of Ishwardi Upazila in Pabna on Friday (19 April).

The deceased Khairul Islam was the son of late Nasim Uddin Pramanik of Chargargari Alhaj Mor Paschimpara.

Some of the injured are Saju Hudi, 50, Jamaat Fakir, 50, Nasiruddin, 30, Md. Mithun, 35, Moslem Uddin, 60, Manu Pramanik, 55, Md. Khokon Pramanik, 35, and Nur Begum, 50.

According to the locals, the two groups had a quarrel a few days back over a piece of land. This led to a clash between the two groups in the last two days.

As a result of the clash, Khairul died on the spot around 3pm on Friday.

Locals rescued the injured and sent them to the hospital.

Monirul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC-Investigation) of Ishwardi Police Station, said police are on the spot.

The details of the incident will be informed later, added the officer.
