Sohel Atol received the Dhaka Sub Editors Council Literary Award

Journalists' organization Dhaka Sub Editors Council has started the process of awarding literary awards to writers every year. Journalist and writer Sohel Atol received the literature award in the story-novel category this year. He won this literary award for his biography of singer Asif Akbar "Akbar Fifty Not Out".

The award was announced at the organization's biennial conference at the National Press Club on Sunday (28 April). The literary award was announced in the presence of former president of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul, president of Dhaka Sub Editors Council Mamun Farazi and other leaders of journalist organizations.

Accepting the award, journalist and writer Sohel Atol said, “It is a pleasure to receive the award. Inspirational for the writer. Expressing gratitude to Dhaka Sub Editors Council and Jury Board.”

This year Dhaka Sub Editors Council Literary Award was given to various writers in children's literature, translation, short stories-novel, and poetry categories. Selina Hossain, the famous novelist of the country, served as the head of the jury board.
