Nasim Osman’s 10th death anniversary tomorrow

Tuesday (30 April) is the 10th death anniversary of the heroic freedom fighter Nasim Osman, a member of the traditional Osman family of Narayanganj. 

He was elected Member of Parliament from Narayanganj-5 Constituency in 1986, 1988, 2008 and 2014. Late Nasim Osman, a late language soldier and independence medalist of the traditional political family of Narayanganj, a brave freedom fighter, one of the organizations of the liberation war, former MLA, a close companion of Bangabandhu and one of the founding figures of Bangladesh Awami League, the elder son of the late AKM Shamsujjoha and the late language soldier Nagina Joha and currently Narayanganj- Elder brother of AKM Salim Osman and AKM Shamim Osman, Member of Parliament for Constituency 5 and 4. He was also a presidium member of Jatiya Party and is the elected Member of Parliament for the longest term from Narayanganj-5 Constituency. 

On April 18, 2014, Nasim Osman was flown to India for treatment. After receiving treatment in Delhi, he went to Dehradun. While staying at a residential hotel there, he suffered a sudden heart attack and was taken to the hospital. He died there on April 30, 2014. 

After the death of Naseem Osman, the Prime Minister addressed the Parliament. During the discussion on Nasim Osman's condolence proposal, the Prime Minister said that Bangabandhu had a close relationship with Osman's family. 

Awami League was born in that family. Shamim Osman's grandfather Khan Saheb Osman Ali and father Shamchujjoha Khan were very close people of Bangabandhu. Nasim Osman formed a youth brigade to avenge the assassination of Bangabandhu. Later, even though he joined the Jatiya Party, he was Bangabandhu's ideal. 

Acknowledging the contribution of the Osman family in Awami League politics, the Prime Minister said, "If they need me, I will look after them." ' During his lifetime, Nasim Osman tried his best to build Shitalakshya Bridge. At the end of the bridge construction, the bridge was named 'Naseem Osman Bridge'. 

Jatiya Party office was on Bangabandhu Road in the city organization used to sit there regularly. On the occasion of his death anniversary, prayers have been organized at various places by his family old Bandar Choudhury Bari Nasim Osman High School. 

A milad mahfil will be offered here after asr prayer here on Tuesday. The deceased younger brother Salim Osman MP requested to present the mahfil.
