Narayanganj District Commissioner Mohammad Mahmudul Haque said, we want every educational institution to have a science club. At least there will be practice.

They will see what Einstein made there, Jamal Nazrul's invention will be there, Zafar Iqbal's biography will be there. Each school should have a dedicated room for them. That these are our ancestors.

He said these things at a function organized on the occasion of National Science and Technology Day at Narayanganj Preparatory School on Monday (May 6).

Earlier, he inaugurated the Science Fair organized by the Preparatory School by cutting the ribbon. The Deputy Commissioner said, we are not creating a world of thoughts for the children.

We are busy on mobile. But I don't care who invented mobile. We don't think that's how it works. We use laptops but fail to inculcate in students how it works. We cannot teach these to female students. We cannot teach what the mechanism is. The purpose of this science fair is to raise the question in the minds of our students.

He said, Einstein and Newton were people like us. Zahid Hasan is a famous scientist of our country. There are many scientists in our country. Dr. Zafar Iqbal has changed the lives of many people. Who would have received hundreds of thousands of dollars in any foreign university. But he is working here with a salary of several thousand bdt.

He also said that Stephen Hawking called Jamal Nazrul one of the best scientists. He also came to Chittagong University with a salary of several lakhs of bdt. There should be such tension for our country. I know someone who lives in Canada, said he is very happy. I said what is happiness What a joy to be so far away from family.

Everyone defines happiness differently. If the teacher can fulfill the responsibility well and awaken the latent talent of the students then you have played an important role in nation building. We are thousands of teachers. But we see students cannot read Bengali A class ten boy cannot read English. They cannot solve a simple equation. We have to get out of it. It will be our aim that 100% of our students can read Bengali, English and have basic idea of mathematics.

He also said, none of us can avoid the responsibility. Language martyrs gave their lives in 1952. And today our class three and four children cannot read Bengali. Our teachers need to think about how to teach. Teachers should read too.

District Education Officer Md. Yunuch Faruqi, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Dedarul Islam, Principal of Narayanganj College were present as special guests in the event. Fazlul Haque Rumon Reza presided over Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Hamidur Rahman and other leaders.
