CCC, CMP ink deal to ensure road safety in Ctg

Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) and Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) have joined hands to ensure the road safety of Chattogram city.

An agreement was signed between the CCC and CMP in this regard at the CCC office in Tigerpass of the city on Tuesday (7 May).

Under the agreement, CCC and CMP will take a coordinated action to reduce accidents and casualties in the city by analyzing the evidence of accidents. They will analyze the data and jointly publish an annual road safety report.

The agencies will work together to identify areas and roads that are vulnerable and where design changes and refinements are required.

The agreement aims to develop an integrated approach to solve road safety issues.

City Mayor Rezaul Karim Chowdhury, CMP Commissioner Krishna Podo Roy were present there.

Chief Executive Officer of CCC Sheikh Mohammad Touhidul Islam and Abdul Warish, deputy commissioner (headquarter) signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides.

CCC mayor Rezaul said, “The CCC and CMP will work together to make a traffic-jam free city. Already traffic congestion has come down due to the ongoing eviction drive and under this agreement, we will move further in safe city planning through mutual information sharing.”

Meanwhile, CMP Commissioner Krishna Podo Roy said the exchange of information will make traffic management more science-based and dynamic which will play a role in making the roads safer.
