A colossal bull named 'Pabna Raja Babu Number One,' weighing 30 maunds, is creating a buzz in the local community as Eid-ul-Azha approaches. The white and black bull, nurtured for three years, is expected to make a significant impact on the market this year.

Farmer Rezaul Karim has set an asking price of Tk 25 lakh for the bull, which has already attracted people of all ages to his home for a glimpse of the majestic animal. The bull was originally purchased by Alauddin Sheikh, a resident of Kuavasi Chhota Dublapara village in Chatmohar Upazila, for Tk 320,000 from Ekdant market in Atgharia upazila. Alauddin's father, Abdur Razzak Sheikh, was also involved in the bull's care.

Raised in a healthy environment and fed a diet of natural foods, the bull has grown significantly over the years and exhibits a calm and regal demeanor, earning him the title 'Raja Babu.' He has been fed maize, jab, green grass, tin husk, wheat husk, and paddy straw in a traditional manner.

Despite not selling last year, Alauddin is hopeful for a sale this year, emphasizing that the bull can be bought at a reasonable price. The emotional attachment to the bull is evident in the family, with Alauddin's wife, Ratna Khatun, and daughter, Meem Khatun, expressing their fondness for the animal.

Meem shared that the bull gets angry when he sees strangers but is fond of her, often seeking raw grass from her. Ratna added that she has cared for the bull like a child for three years and is emotional about the prospect of selling him.

The allure of 'Pabna Raja Babu Number One' extends far beyond the confines of the village, drawing visitors from distant locales who come to marvel at the sheer magnificence of the beast, voicing their admiration and rallying behind Alauddin's aspirations of securing a buyer.

Dr. Gaurang Kumar Talukder, the district's animal resource officer, offers pragmatic advice to farmers, suggesting the strategic sale of cows during Eid-ul-Fitr to capitalize on heightened demand, thus alleviating the pressure associated with the Qurbani Eid market. He further advocates for leveraging social media platforms to facilitate group sales, streamlining the process and minimizing logistical hurdles.

As the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Azha looms large, 'Pabna Raja Babu Number One' stands as a beacon of hope and ambition for Alauddin and his kin, poised to realize their aspirations through the auspicious sale of their prized possession.
