He has announced his resignation seeking the trial of District Awami League Joint General Secretary MA Quddus due to the controversy surrounding the vote of the last parliamentary election. The uproar in local politics has started with this.

Mymensingh Nagar Awami League General Secretary Mohit Ur Rahman Shanto posted a video on Facebook. District Awami League joint general secretary MA Quddus was seen giving a speech there.

MA Quddus said in that video, “Aminul Haque Shamim (Vice President of District Awami League) worked for three months in the last election and gained recognition as a leader in every corner of Sadar. In the last election, you have won Truck symbol by a huge margin. Aminul Haque Shamim was elected by vote. But in the afternoon, he was let down by an invisible hand. 1 lakh 3 thousand votes, it’s not a matter of joke. 50,000 votes are being thrown here and there, otherwise this gentleman (Aminul Haque Shamim) passes.”

In another video, MA Quddus said, “Horse symbol (upazila election candidate Ashraf Hossain) has to be elected, for him we have come to speak before you today. Sadar upazila is a very important upazila. Let thieves, robbers, murderers be elected here – we don't want that. We have taken a stand for Ashraf so that those against whom there is a complaint, who are identified as bad people by the society, cannot win.”

Sharing these video MP Mohit Ur Rahman Shanto wrote in his status drawing the Prime Minister's attention, "The whole world is in your praise, when everyone is congratulating you and looking forward to working with you after winning a free and fair election, Mymensingh District Awami League Joint General Secretary, compromising with the blood of children, compromising with the killers of children MA Quddus that Free, fair and impartial elections, our dear ones have indulged in a dastardly conspiracy to derail.”

He also wrote, "Freedom of speech cannot mean lying. Honorable Prime Minister, I submit my resignation in advance to you. After verifying the facts of the incident, you will either accept my resignation and dismiss all the officials of the administration involved, or MA Quddus will judge as an example for questioned the government by the opposition for personal gain."

When asked about this, Mymensingh district Awami League vice-president and independent candidate in the last parliamentary election, Aminul Haque Shamim told The Daily Messenger, "The people of the area were already angry with MP Mohit ur Rahman due to various controversial activities. The people were angry with him for his role in the last parliamentary election. It's an angrier expression of him."

He further said, "A member of Parliament cannot behave like this towards party leaders and workers. He should not have made such a statement by posting on Facebook. It was not well received by the local people."

It should be noted that Mymensingh Sadar Upazila elections will be held on May 21. On this occasion, an exchange meeting was held with Chhatra League leaders and activists in support of the district Awami League member, current upazila chairman and rival candidate Ashraf Hossain at a restaurant in the city on Saturday. District Awami League vice president and independent candidate in the last parliamentary election Aminul Haque Shamim was present there as the chief guest. Apart from District Chhatra League President, General Secretary, District Awami League Vice President Shaukat Jahan Mukul, Office Secretary Abu Saeed Bin Islam Fakhrul and others were present there.

District Awami League vice-president Shaukat Jahan Mukul said that the way the MP wrote about the matter was not right. Many things are said when standing in a speech; But can everything be caught? A leader may say in a speech, not taking it seriously.
