Mayor of Rangpur City Corporation Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa has announced to remove the sacrificial waste of Rangpur city within 12 hours. For this, he called for the waste to be kept at the designated place.
He made this comment to reporters after offering Eid-ul-Azha prayers at Rangpur Model Mosque on Monday (17 June). Officials of the City Corporation were present at the time.
Greeting the citizens on Eid, the mayor said, we will start removing garbage from 2 pm. I will finish all removal work by 2 am. For this reason, around 700 city workers have already started working in three zones. He appealed to the city dwellers and said that our initiative will be beneficial if the city dwellers throw waste at designated places.
He said, I myself am monitoring this activity. If there is any mismanagement or waste, contact me and our city hotline immediately. We hope the citizens will cooperate with us.
Mayor Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa will inaugurate the garbage removal program from the city's Shapla square at 2 pm.
Due to inclement weather, the main Eid congregation was held at the Model Mosque instead of the Collectorate Eidgah ground. There at 8 am and 9 am. Here GM Quader, Mayor Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa, Divisional Commissioner along with various political leaders participated in prayers.
