The institute itself is an impressive four-story structure, complete with separate hostels for male and female students, a principal's residence, staff accommodations, labs, a workshop, a library, and more. This modern educational facility is expected to provide valuable opportunities for the Haor community.
Local civil society recognizes the importance of job creation for sustainable economic development. Technical education is seen as a vital pathway to achieving this goal, offering opportunities for employment and self-employment within the country and even abroad. Planning Minister MA Mannan's efforts to establish the textile institute have earned the gratitude of the people of Sunamganj.
The Principal of Sunamganj Textile Institute, Mahmudul Hasan, reports that 123 students have already been admitted, and the admission process continues. The institute has filled key positions, including teaching and administrative staff, with classes scheduled to begin in early December.
