The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a total of 25 members of five teen gangs from different areas in the city.
RAB-2 senior assistant director (media) and senior ASP Shihab Karim on Sunday (24 March) told the media that the arrested were identified as Md. Akhter,24, Md. Shakil,19, Md. Rasel,20, Md. Faysal,19, Md. Ashik, 23, Md. Masum, 25, Md. Swayon, 23, Hasan, 29, Md. Mahadi Hasan,25, Md Anwar Hossain, 22, Md Imon, 21, Md. Bappi,27, Md. Abdul Jalil, 27, Md. Ashraful,22, Md. Lemon,22, Md. Faysal,25, Md. Rakib,19, Md. Sumon,23, Md. Feroz,32, Md. Sujon Mredha, 32, Md. Momin Islam,20, Md. Nayon,19, Md Juel,23, Md. Sumon Mia,21 and Md. Rabal Mia,22.
He said acting on a tip off, different teams of RAB conducted drives in the city's Mohammadpur and Dhanmondi areas and arrested them on Saturday night.
RAB also recovered machetes, knifes, axes and rajors from their possession.
Legal actions have been taken against them, he added.
