A Khulna court on Wednesday (15 May) sentenced a man to death for killing his wife in 2011.
Khulna Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-3 Judge Abdus Salam Khan passed the order and fined condemned convict Md Nurunnabi Tk 50,000.
Public Prosecutor Farid Ahmed said Nurunnabi strangled his wife Zohra Khatun to death at their residence in Khulna city on August 25, 2011 over dowry.
The victim's brother Saddam Hossain filed a murder case with Khulna Police Station on August 27.
The court pronounced the judgment after examining 14 witnesses in the case, said the Public Prosecutor.
