At this time of severe heat all over the country, the residents of the capital are suffering from water and electricity shortage. It is known that severe water shortage is going on in various areas including Mohammadpur, Bhashantek and Agargaon. Besides, water shortage has occurred in several other areas. Complaints of the city dwellers - they are not getting water easily even from alternative water trucks; Although according to Dhaka WASA,tThey are taking effective action as soon as they know about the water crisis. On the other hand, electricity load shedding has increased in rural areas as well as in the capital. Needless to say, this crisis of water and electricity has increased the suffering in public life. Besides, the production of the industrial sector is being disrupted. Irrigation is being disrupted in rural areas.

This year the intensity of heat in the country is felt more than any other time. People are passing away due to heat stroke in the last few days. In this situation, the government has been forced to close educational institutions. Experts have urged sick people, children and the elderly to refrain from going out of the house unless necessary. But due to load shedding, people are not comfortable even at home. On the other hand, general people have to go out to livelihood The working people have no other option. They have to support their families with the money they earn in return for their sunburned and sweaty labour. The suffering of water shortage is more for them. Excessive sweating in summer causes dehydration in the body. The availability of safe drinking water is essential at this time. However, Dhaka WASA says that they have provided free food and water at public gathering places for the convenience of pedestrians. But needless to say, such a system is very limited compared to the demand. The problem of water shortage is not less at home.

Demand for water increases during summer. During this time people drink more water and have shower. The extreme heat has affected the production of water this time as well. At this time the water level goes down. Power shortage also affects water supply. In this situation, it is difficult to keep the water supply uninterrupted.

But with proper management, it is possible to make the situation bearable. For this, the wastage of water and corruption in this sector should be prevented. The same applies to electricity. In this case it is necessary to stop wastage as well as disconnect illegal connections. In fact, there is no shortage of power generation in the country. It is known that on Monday night, the record of highest electricity generation in the history of the country was recorded. During this time, 16 thousand 233 megawatts of electricity has been produced. However, despite the increase in electricity production in the country, the transmission and supply system has not been developed to keep pace with it. The problem is mainly in the supply system. Apart from faults in transmission lines, there are also allegations of gross mismanagement in power supply. If these problems can be removed, the power crisis can be solved. So this aspect needs immediate attention. Or even if sufficient electricity is produced, the people and the industrial sector will not get the benefits.
