Consensus needed to restore peace in Palestine

A terrible crime against humanity has been perpetrated in Palestine for half a century. On October 7, last year, Israeli forces began to attack Gaza after Hamas attacked Israel. Their attacks killed more than 34,000 people and destroyed thousands of houses in this small valley. University students in the United States, Canada and Australia have protested against this attack. Israel has occupied Palestinian rights, their land. This is the big problem.

Despite repeated offers for a peaceful solution, Israel does not care. Thousands of Palestinians are killed every year. World humanity continues its protest. Outsiders are interfering with the peaceful protest of US university students protesting the genocide in Gaza. The police attacked the protesting students. It is known that the authorities called the police to suppress the movement. The storm of protests that has arisen around the world is gradually intensifying.

Experts say that the West has sustained the genocide with weapons and money. The unity of the Muslim Ummah can play an important role in solving the Palestinian crisis. Many EU countries want to recognise Palestine as independent. This is a good move. The member states of the OIC must take united and tougher measures against Israel in order to permanently end the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has urged Israel and Hamas to reach an agreement, taking into account the region's interests for the people of Gaza.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs warns that hundreds of lives could be in jeopardy if Israel proceeds with a ground operation in Rafah. Numerous international bodies, from the United Nations to various humanitarian organisations, have accused Israel of violating international law in Gaza. South Africa has taken the matter to the International Court of Justice, directly accusing Israel of perpetrating genocide in Gaza. The court has ordered Israel to cease its genocidal actions, but Israel has not complied.
