Two-day Int’l Confce on Future Education begins at DU

A two-day long International Conference on 'Global Assembly on Future of Education' has begun today (February 11) at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of Dhaka University (DU).

DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A SM Maksud Kamal inaugurated the conference as chief guest. The theme of this conference is 'Building Smart Global Education Communities: International Collaboration for Sustainability in Education'. Global Educators Initiative for Sustainable Transformation (GEIST) has organized this event in cooperation with ICT Division and UNDP.

UNESCO Representative to Bangladesh Dr. Susan Vize, Founder President of GEIST Mr. Biblob Kumar Deb, President of GEIST Global Dr. Sabyasachi Mazumdar and Vice President Mr. Baman Kumar Ghimire addressed the inaugural session. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A SM Maksud Kamal stressed the

need for preparing our new generation as global citizen with the combination of knowledge, wisdom and skills. He said, new curriculum has already been introduced in primary and secondary level to produce skilled human resources in the country. This international conference will create a common platform to exchange views regarding education systems of different countries around the world and students and teachers of our country will be highly benefited from this, the VC hoped.

It may be mentioned that experts from eight countries including Bangladesh, India, USA, Germany and Sweden are participating in the conference.
