A student of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia was assaulted allegedly by a bus driver of ‘New SB super delux’ (Dhaka Metro-B 147495) on Saturday afternoon.

The victim, Sani Ahmed Mithun of Human Resource Management department under 2022-23 academic session, filed a written complaint to the student advisor, proctor and transport administrator, seeking justice about the incident.

According to the complaint, the driver and helper of SB delux (student bus) were picking up non-student passengers on the bus. When the victim asked the driver not to pick-up outsiders on the bus, the helper abused him in vulgar language and later, they forced him down from the bus.

Meanwhile, when the victim tried to record the incident, the driver and helper threatened him with death and asked to delete the video. At one moment they assaulted the victim as he refused to delete the video. Later, the local people rescued him from the accused.

The victim is seeking legal action against the accused to the authorities.

The bus driver, Rokon, said that, ‘the allegation of picking up outsiders is true, but we didn’t assault him’.

“We’ve got the written complaint. This kind of behavior is unacceptable. We’re working on it’, said university student advisor Professor Dr Shelina Nasrin.
