Statistics Alumni of CU, an organization representing the former students of the Statistics Department, Chittagong University (CU) has hosted an Eid reunion programme at Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD).
They also held its annual general meeting at the same venue which was presided over by the organization’s President Dr Obaidur Rab.
Over 400 alumni and their family members from various parts of the country joined the daylong function, said the organizers on Sunday (21 April).
A special munajat was offered seeking doa for the brave souls who sacrificed their lives during the War of Liberation and the members of the organization who died.
Convener of the event SM Nurul Hoque delivered welcome remarks.
Chief adviser Dr Mahbubur Rahman Azad, freedom fighter Shah Alam Nipu, Dr Shah Mohammad Selim, M Nurul Absar, Dipak Kumar Sarker, former chairman of the department Monirul Islam, Mahbubul Islam and member secretary GM Faruk Shawpan, among others, were present.
