Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University has entered its 19th year after passing one and a half century of glory and success. The university was established on May 9, 2006 at Battala, Namapara, Trishal, named after the national poet.
Since then, Nazrul University has been able to maintain its unique position among the 58 public universities of the country by properly conducting education, research, development and co-educational activities. Nazrul University is moving forward with the hope of a beautiful future with the tireless efforts of a group of young talented teachers, talented students, officers and employees.
Currently, This 57 acre Nazrul University has 25 departments under 6 faculties, more than 250 teachers and more than 10 thousand students. In 19 years, the university has increased several times. The university has 4 halls of residence for student accommodation. More than 4,000 students are staying in Agni Veena Hall, Dolan Champa Hall, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall and Bangmata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall.
Two more halls are currently under construction. There are 4 buildings for accommodation of teachers, officials and employees. Under construction are residences for teachers, officials, staff, utility buildings, academic buildings for students, institute buildings, central mosque, a college, TSC, two scenic gates and university boundary wall.
The entire campus has been brought under CCTV, walkie-talkies have been added to security personnel for tight security. Beautiful sculptures of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, Sheikh Russell, Anjali Lah More have been installed, Constitution Square has been installed as a memorial to the Constitution of 72.
Sheikh Russell Children's Park has been built for the children of resident teachers, officials and employees. Academic calendar has been formulated for students to eliminate session congestion in the academic activities of the university. Digital filing initiative has been taken to build smart campus. Institute of Nazrul Studies and a compulsory course on Nazrul named 'Nazrul Studies' of -100 marks have been established to give a new dimension to Nazrul research. Nazrul University's stall participated in Ekushe Book Fair 2023 for the first time.
This university, which has a festive atmosphere throughout the year, is run with cultural mind. Every year Nazrul Jayanti, Rabindra Jayanti, month-long drama festival, film festival, pitha festival, Nazrul book fair, Kuasha festival, juice festival, research fair, international conference are the center of attraction for all.
The entire campus is embedded in the memory of poet Nazrul. Memorial named 'Chir Umadat Mam Shir' and two cafeterias named 'Chakrabak', 'Chandrabindu', 'Agniveena', 'Dolanchapa' Hall, 'Prabhati', 'Dhumketu', 'Natun Pathik', 'Jingeful', 'Rebel', The touch of Nazrul's creative work is present in everything, including the transport bus named 'Proloyashikha', 'Durer Bandhu', 'Churulia Manch', 'Gahi Samye Gan Manch', 'Jaydhani Manch', 'Bather Daan'.

In this institution named Jatiya Kabir, we have started our journey by taking education, research and development as our motto.
The quality of education among our students and the intention to create them as this age is effective in the university, and our students are becoming more proficient than before. At the same time, in the field of research, we see that the thinking and research desire of our faculty has increased more than before. That is why they have increased their field of research within themselves and at the same time increased their involvement with outside.

With this we have been able to link the development of our university with the roadmap of national development. A grand mission of education, research and development is going on in our university. Here we are working together with the university family, teachers, officials, staff and students. We are working together day and night to build a smart campus. Now we can say that some vandalism is going on as we are working inside. Surely it can be said that before something is built, it is destroyed, as Nazrul said, "The broken knows how to build again, it is forever beautiful. You all shout victory."
We are at the place just before Jai Dhvani. Surely Nazrul University will do better in a very short time and will be able to make its name known nationally and internationally.
