Anhar Ahmed Chowdhury Passes Away

Anhar Ahmed Chowdhury, a philanthropist and a distinguished businessman from Dhaka’s Gulshan-2 area, passed away at about 10:00 pm on Tuesday at United Hospital after battling leukaemia. He was 74.

Chowdhury served as a member of the Board of Trustees at the University of Asia Pacific. He was an active Rotarian and was notably involved in the Gulshan Society, where he held the secretary general position from 2012 to 2014.

Born to the late Abul Hasanat Chowdhury of Bhatipara House in Sylhet city’s Dargah Gate, Anhar Chowdhury was widely respected in his hometown and Dhaka.

Known for his warm smile and amicable nature, he was a compassionate and benevolent figure dedicated to social welfare.

His death has cast a shadow of grief over his family and relatives both in the country and abroad.

His namaz-e-janaza was held on Wednesday after Zuhr prayers at the Gulshan Society Jame Mosque, and he will be buried at Banani Graveyard, according to family sources.
