DU INFS, history dept holds freshers’ reception, farewell

Freshers' reception and farewell programme of Institute of Nutrition and Food Science (INFS) of Dhaka University was held today at the institutes' auditorium.

Pro-vice-chancellor (education) professor Dr Mamun Ahmed addressed the programme as chief guest while Professor Dr. Md. Nizamul Hoque Buiyan and Professor Dr. Sharmin Rumi Alim attended as special guests on the occasion, chaired by Institute director Dr. Md. Saidul Arefin.

Mentioning that parents send their children to the university with deep trust and expectations, Professor Mamun urged first year students to set their goals precisely and achieve success through utilizing all the facilities including libraries and laboratories the university offers.

Students get admission to this university through highly competitive examinations with many dreams, Mamun said, adding, "Dhaka University family will always support the students and parents with utmost sincerity in realizing their dreams". 

Meanwhile, Freshers' reception and cultural programme of history department was held at the university's Teachers-Students Centre auditorium which was also attended by Pro-vice-chancellor (education) professor Mamun Ahmed as chief guest.

Chaired by department chairperson Professor Ashfaque Hossain, it was addressed by DU Arts faculty dean Professor Dr. Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan and former Professor of Dhaka University's History Department Syed Anwar Husain.
