HSC, equivalent exams begin today

The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams for eight general education boards across the country begin on Thursday (17 August ). On the day, candidates will sit for the Bangla First Paper exam from 10:00am to 1:00pm. 

Today the examinations will kick off with the Bangla first paper under the Dhaka, Rajshahi, Cumilla, Barishal, Dinajpur, Sylhet, Jessore and Mymensingh education boards.
The deferred HSC examinations of Chattogram board, madrassah board and technical education board will start on August 27.

The examinations of the three boards were shifted from August 17 to August 27 due to flooding in five districts of Chattogram division.

The HSC exams will be held at 2,658 exam centres and 9,169 educational institutions.

The first four exams of three education boards have been deferred due to natural calamities. As a result, the HSC examination of these boards will start from August 27.

A total of 13,59, 342 students—6,88, 887 boys and 6,70,455 girls--- are expected to appear in this year’s HSC examinations, 1,55,935 more than the previous year, under the all 11 education boards. However, 10,7,241 people will participate in the first day exam under eight boards.

Among the total students, 11,08,594 students will appear for the exams under the nine general education boards, 98,031 under the Madrasha board and 1,52,717 under the Technical Education board.

According to the routine, HSC written exams will continue till September 25.

Practical exams will be held from September 26 to October 4.
