14 students of RU Faculty of Arts received Dean’s Award

Fourteen students from 12 departments of the Faculty of Arts received the Dean's Award in recognition of meritorious results in the Graduation (Honours) Examination of Rajshahi University. Awarded students were given a commemorative crest, certificate, and 5 thousand takas each.

On Sunday (17 September) at 11 o'clock at Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Senate building, Chief Guest University Vice-Chancellor Professor Golam Sabbir Sattar gave away the awards to the students.

The students who received the Dean's Award are Jannatun Nahar (Philosophy Department), Subaishta Naeem (History Department), Umme Kulsoom Prasoon (English Department), Irene Khatun (Bangla Department), Shrabani Akhter and Md. Rahmat Ullah (Islamic History and Culture Department), Md. Bayezid (Arabic Department), Sabbir Hossain (Islamic Studies Department), Bidita Roy (Music Department), Shakibul Hasan (Drama Department), Atkia Antara (Persian Language and Literature Department), Md. Milan Islam and Pratima Rani (Sanskrit Department) and Sadia Jannat (Urdu Department).

The director of the Faculty of Arts Prof. Under the chairmanship of Fazlul Haque, the special guest in this event was Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Md. Sultan-ul-Islam, Vice-Chancellor (Education) Prof. Professor Humayun Kabir and treasurer. 

Congratulating the awarded students for this achievement, the Vice-Chancellor expressed hope that they will contribute to the development of the country in the future. These talented students of today will be the artisans of implementing Smart Bangladesh in continuation of Bangabandhu's Sonar Bangla. The Vice-Chancellor also said that the Faculty of Arts is related to the establishment of this university.

On the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor (Administration) said that the recognition of merit inspires others to express their merit. Arts faculty authorities have done the job of motivating others by awarding meritorious students of the faculty. He expressed hope that these students will contribute to the development of the country and the nation with their talent and thoughtfulness in the coming days.

On the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor (Education) congratulated the awardees and expressed hope that they would achieve success. He also urged the meritorious students to devote the acquired knowledge to the overall development of the nation.
