Legendary singer Sabina Yasmin has been diagnosed with cancer again at the end of last year after almost 17 years. When her condition deteriorated slightly, she was taken to Singapore on an emergency basis in the first week of the current month. She was admitted to the National Cancer Centre of the General Hospital of the country.

The veteran singer was first diagnosed with oral cancer in 2007. Then she returned to normal life through proper treatment with the initiative of everyone in the country and abroad. Since then, she has been doing well with regular checkups.

Family sources, on the condition of anonymity, said that at the end of last year, some complications developed in Sabina Yasmin's body. Then it was confirmed that the cancer had reappeared in the singer's mouth cavity. Finally, in the first week of this month, she was taken to Singapore.

It is learned that Sabina Yasmin has already undergone surgery on her face. Therapy will begin quickly. The family has asked for prayers for the artiste.

Sabina Yasmin has been singing for more than five decades. Many music experts believe that another sweet voice like hers has not yet emerged in the world of Bengali music.

Along with singing for Bangladeshi films, she has made significant contribution by singing patriotic songs. She has won 14 National Film Awards. For her contribution to the country’s music, the government of Bangladesh awarded her the Ekushey Padak, the second-highest civilian state honour, and the Independence Award, the highest civilian state honour.
