Shouquat Ali Imon is a renowned music composer and winner of the National Film Award in Bangladesh. On the other hand, Ankhi Alamgir is an artist who has received National Film Awards for her acting and singing.
Imon is constantly busy creating tunes for songs, while Ankhi Alamgir keeps herself occupied by singing new original songs and performing in stage shows throughout the year. However, Imon also sings occasionally. Almost two decades ago, Imon and Ankhi Alamgir had collaborated on a duet song.
After a long hiatus, they have now lent their voices to another song titled 'Coffeer Peyala' (Cup of Coffee) for Dhrubo Guha's YouTube channel 'Dhrubo Music Station'. The song is written by Ashiq Mahmud, composed by Akash Mahmud, and the music arrangement is done by Shouquat Ali Imon.
Ankhi Alamgir and Imon have informed that the work of making the music video for the song has also been completed.
Regarding the song, Ankhi Alamgir said, “It was some time ago. Suddenly Imon sent me a song and asked if I would sing it. I was so mesmerized after hearing the song; it's unbelievable. Such a beautiful tune, so melodious, such a romantic song - I really liked it a lot. I immediately said that I would sing it. Imon had said from the beginning that we would sing it as a duet. A few days later, I recorded my vocals, and finally, our favorite photographer, Sithil Rahman, has made the music video for the song.”
Imon said, "From the very beginning, I felt Ankhi was perfect for this song. That's why I sent the song to her. Eventually, we both sang it together. I have very high expectations for this song because overall it has turned out really well. So my emotions, love, fondness, and expectations surrounding the song have increased. Thanks to Ankhi, Dhrubo Music Station, Ashiq, Akash, and Sithil."
Some of Imon's notable compositions sung by Ankhi Alamgir that gained immense popularity include 'Jol Pore Pata Nore', 'Babujee', 'Shyam Piriti', 'Rajkumari', and others. The song 'Coffeer Peyala' will be released on March 31 on 'Dhrubo Music Station'.
