Bangladeshi filmmaker of Malaysian origin, Zafor Firoze, has signed a contract for his new film titled ‘Zenubia’ with popular Bangladeshi actress Ashna Habib Bhabna. The executive producer of the film is Qiao Li, a British-Chinese producer.
Regarding the film 'Zenubia', Zafor said, “We are organising a film festival in Malaysia this November. We went to the Cannes Festival for its marketing. There were also plans for the movie ‘Zenubia’. After arriving at the Cannes Festival, I heard that Bhabna had come from Bangladesh. I contacted her. Then we met and talked. I narrated the story. After hearing the story, she agreed. We also made the final decision that we will work together.”
Bhabna said, “After coming to Cannes, I signed for the movie. This is the biggest achievement for an actress.”
About signing the movie at Cannes, Zafor said, “She was in our plan too. A few names suitable for the story were on our list. When I heard that Bhabna was coming to the Cannes Festival, I thought, why not sit with her? Then I talked to her and narrated the story. She also liked it very much. From our conversation, it seemed that she would be able to present the character in our film exactly as we have designed it. Her self-confidence has also reassured us a lot.”
When asked about when the shooting of 'Zenubia' will start, Zafor Firoze informed that they will begin working on the film within the next three months. The entire shooting will take place in Malaysia. The other actors will also be finalized within this period.
