Purnima’s silver jubilee in acting

National Film Award winner actress Dilara Hanif Purnima has completed 25 years in her acting career. She made her debut in Zakir Hossain Raju's film 'A Jibon Tomar Amar' in the year 1998.

Since the beginning of the history of Bangladeshi films till today, Purnima's name also comes up consistently among the names that are specially mentioned. She is one of only four successful actresses, who appeared in Bangladeshi cinema – especially in the 90s.

She has acted in 80 successful movies. 'Joddha' is her first commercially successful movie but she acted in a bunch of commercially successful movies. Among them, Moner Majhe Tumi, Hridoyer Kotha,  Akash Chhoa Bhalobasa,  Matir Thikana, Judge Barrister Police Commissioner, Moner Sathe Juddho, etc are her commercially notable films.

At the beginning of her acting career, Purnima acted in a movie against Shahiduzzaman Selim under the direction of Rezanur Rahman. In Purnima's film career, she worked against most of the popular heroes of Bangladesh. Such as Manna, Riaz Shakib Khan, Rubel, Amin Khan, and many others.

While talking about silver jubilee in her acting career Purnima said, "Firstly, I am grateful to God. Also, I express my sincere gratitude to all the viewers of Bangladesh, including the producers, directors, co-artists, and technicians of each of my movies, and above all to the journalist brothers and sisters. Of course, I will forever be grateful to my mother. Only because of her continuous support, I could continue the work and became today's Purnima."

"There were ups and downs in the long 25-year acting career. At one point I was very disappointed. But later I was able to return back to my position. I am really grateful to my audience and fans. I also acted in Nayak Raj Razzak's two films. I am indebted to him for the drive he gave me at that time'', she added.

Purnima also worked in Dramas against some powerful actors like Raisul Islam Asad, Afzal Hossain, Shahiduzzaman Salim, Zahid Hasan, Mahfuz Ahmed, Mosharraf Karim, Chanchal Chowdhury, Ziaul Faruq Apurba, etc.

Noted, Purnima was born on 11 July 1984. She was awarded the National Film Award for his performance in the movie 'Ora Amake Valo Hote Dilona' directed by Kazi Hayat.
