Legendary Bangladeshi singer-composer Runa Laila, one of the most prominent playback artistes of the subcontinent, will be seen joining the judging panel of the popular musical reality show ‘Channel i Shera Kontho’.
After a 13-year hiatus, the veteran singer will appear as a special judge from tonight’s super round episode of the 7th season of the show, scheduled to be aired at 7:50 pm on Channel i.
Welcoming Runa Laila as the special judge of 'Shera Kontho,' Ijaz Khan Swapan, the project head and director, said, “Runa Laila is the pride of our country. She is a renowned music artiste of the subcontinent. So, we wanted to showcase her appearance as a special judge in ‘Shera Kontho.’ That's why today's episode is a little more special.”
“Kudos to Runa Laila for giving us her time again to showcase the upcoming new singers in the music scene with proper judgment. Hopefully, after 2017, we will have some of the best contestants in 2023 as well,” he added.
Runa Laila said, “After many years, it's really nice to be associated with ‘Channel i Shera Kontho.’ Thanks to Faridur Reza Sagar and Ijaz Khan Swapan. I have only one word for those who are participating in this competition—they should practice regularly.”
“If you want to be a singer, even if you are not able to come to the top of the competition or secure any position, do not be upset. I would say keep practicing regularly. Then one day, the dream will come true. Because music is such a thing, it is not possible to become a good singer without regular practice,” the veteran added.
It is worth mentioning that Rezwana Choudhury Bannya and Samina Chowdhury are two more main judges in the seventh season of ‘Shera Kontho’.
