Actress Afroza Hossain, who was diagnosed with uterine cancer last year, now faces the spread of the disease to her backbone. With the income of her two sons and herself, Afroza has managed some treatment, but she is now seeking financial assistance from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
In her time of need, Afroza Hossain has found support from Obhinoy Shilpi Shongho (Actors' Equity Bangladesh), a dedicated and professional organization of television actors. Ahsan Habib Nasim, the president of Obhinoy Shilpi Shongho, and Urmila Srabonti Kar, the law and welfare secretary, have extended their unwavering support to Afroza. However, the cost of her cancer treatment is substantial, and there are additional expenses her family must bear.
Afroza Hossain said, “The cost of my cancer treatment has become an immense challenge for me. Therefore, I humbly seek financial assistance from our dear, compassionate, and honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. I hope she will not turn away when she knows of my difficult situation. I solemnly request the attention of the honourable Prime Minister and sincerely seek her full cooperation. May Allah keep her in good health and well-being.”
“I extend my heartfelt thanks to Obhinoy Shilpi Shongho for their unwavering support; I am deeply indebted to them. I especially want to thank Ahsan Habib Nasim for his exceptional support,” she added.
Notably, Afroza Hossain played an essential role in the drama serial ‘Anando Paath Asor,’ a collaboration between UNESCO and the Government of Bangladesh aimed at making elderly education enjoyable. This marked her first acting endeavour, and she has since graced numerous tele-dramas alongside celebrated actors like Zahid Hasan and Mahfuz Ahmed.
