Popular actor Ali Raj had been discontented with the country's film industry for a considerable period, as he did not receive any national recognition for his acting prowess, despite portraying challenging roles in numerous compelling movies.
Finally, the actor's talent has now been acknowledged with consecutive National Film Awards for his exceptional performances in two films—'Purey Jai Mon,’ directed by Apurba Rana, and ‘Jannat,’ directed by Mostafizur Rahman Manik.
However, Ali Raj revealed that he has been receiving fewer opportunities to work in films lately. He is not being offered as many roles in films with captivating narratives and complex characters as he would prefer. Nonetheless, he continues to receive offers for film projects, although not all of them align with his artistic preferences.
In the meantime, Ali Raj is actively pursuing television projects. Before his foray into films, he primarily worked as a stage actor, which has fostered a unique attachment and fondness for television dramas.
Currently, he is a regular cast member in the popular drama serial ‘Bokulpur Season 2,’ directed by Kaisar Ahmed. Additionally, he recently appeared in the tele-drama ‘Moner Moto Bon,’ directed by Joy Sarkar.
Ali Raj said, "I am primarily an artiste, and there is no rule dictating that I must solely act in films. However, it is undeniable that almost all of the recognition and fame I have garnered thus far has come from the film industry. My inspiration in films was the legendary Bangladeshi actor, Nayak Raj Razzak, who treated me like a younger brother. I have received the love of millions of viewers in this country and achieved national recognition, which not everyone attains in their acting career.”
"I am genuinely content and satisfied, having gained a lot from my acting journey. Therefore, I hold immense love and respect for all the producers, directors, and co-actors I have collaborated with in the past. Presently, I am actively involved in 'Bokulpur,' and I have also acted in a tele-drama titled 'Moner Moto Bon.' The experience has been rewarding, and I have had the pleasure of working with talented co-actors like Shirin Alam and Reshma. I hope the audience will thoroughly enjoy it," the actor added.
Furthermore, Ali Raj mentioned his involvement in the film ‘Aagun,’ directed by Badiul Alam Khokon. However, the fate of this film currently remains uncertain.
