The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) will add reports about its activities in the Gaza Strip to its future activity reports at Ankara's initiative on Thursday (28 March).
The Turkish permanent representative to UNESCO, Ambassador Gulnur Aybet, addressed the 219th Executive Board Meeting of UNESCO, held from March 13-27, calling the meeting "intense and productive".
Aybet also called on the organization to be more transparent.
"We should not shy away from discussion. Debate is healthy; it makes us aware of each other's sensitivities, and this is what makes us strong as UNESCO," the diplomat was quoted.
The State of Palestine, despite not being internationally recognized, is considered an official member of UNESCO, with four of its properties inscribed on the World Heritage List.
