The US should stop fueling false claims about China's alleged overcapacity and lift illegal sanctions on Chinese companies, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Friday (26 April).
The United States is continuously taking measures to put pressure on China in the trade, economic, scientific and technical spheres, the minister said, adding that this is not fair competition, but containment and blockade.
"The US should stop spreading lies about China's 'overcapacity theory,' lift illegal sanctions on Chinese enterprises and stop imposing additional customs duties that violate WTO rules," Wang said at a meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Beijing.
