China and the United States should be partners, not adversaries, and look for a common ground, Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Friday (26 April), during a meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Beijing.
"This year marks 45 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States. Over the past 45 years, relations between the two countries have experienced ups and downs and have shown us many important things: two countries should be partners, not adversaries, help each other achieve success, and not harm each other," Xi said, as quoted by state-run China Central Television (CCTV), adding that they should find a common ground.
